Original Substance use among females –Study from Rural Western India

Background: Substance abuse is a common health problem which affects individual and takes toll on not only person consuming it rather all members of society related to that person. Aim & Objective: The purpose study was determine the prevalence substance use among females know reasons for same association socio-demographic profile use. Settings Design: Cross-sectional conducted attending OPD at rural training centre medical college 6months duration. Total 500 were interviewed by convenience sampling. Methods Material: After taking informed consent from participants information collected predesigned pretested oral questionnaire. Statistical analysis used: Qualitative Data presented in form numbers percentages. Test significance such as chi-square applied. done using MedCalc version 19.1 Epi-info7. Results: Prevalence found very high 74%. Most tobacco chewing 77.03%. Abuse maximum educated up primary level (82.3%). Near about 72.7% out curiosity. 84.32% interested quitting abuse. Conclusions: affecting adversely.
